Hello, everyone!! I'm not here right now - probably in class or with my friends! Or on a mission. Um...leave me a message here and I'll get back to you soon, okay? Bye!!
Ahh, see, I'm the opposite. I've got a sword for small stuff, I wanna be able to do things like big explosions or thunderstorms, or a tornado like the one you did! Just without me getting caught in it, haha.
[Which is where it ultimately boils down to different priorities for them. Bennett's a fighter and an adventurer, having more ways to fight and defend himself just seems natural to him.]
Eh? Is my hand okay? [He says that, almost as if he has no clue what she's talking about. But eventually it clicks for him.]
--Oh! Nah, my hand is fine. It's just magical fire, see? [He waves the hand around in the air, and the fire shifts around with it. As if that's proving something.] It doesn't hurt me or anything like that. Which is probably a good thing, with how many times I've accidentally lit myself on fire already!
[But with how high his tolerance for pain is, there's a strong probability that he might not even notice if it was hurting him.]
Oooh...I'd love to learn to use a weapon like that one day... I know how to fight hand to hand, but having maybe a more ranged weapon would be useful, too.
[In the cases she can't use her magic. Knowing how to fight and defend herself is great, but also having a weapon - or being trained to use one - wouldn't hurt either. Not as an adventurer, but as a Hero. Their paths may not be the same, but the end result sure is.
Watching Bennett wave the fire about his hand, Ochako seems to calm a little bit. Okay, so he's like Bakugou then - his own fire doesn't burn him. Ochako wonders if hers is the same - she never really tried, but it'd make sense that she'd be at least partially immune to the elements she calls and creates, after all. She hasn't been burned or zapped by her own fire and lightning, so maybe there's some value to that.]
Ah...eh. I-I'm glad, but...please try to be careful? Y-You don't want to accidentally set someone else on fire, right? O-Or destroy something important. [Like your replacement phone.] B-But let me try to do something like that, too!! A little flame like that.
[Nodding, and perked up by the boost of confidence, Ochako huffs a little bit to sort of psyche herself up - deep breath in and out - then glances at her familiar who has taken to laying off to the side in the shade to rest. Aludra's one eye open, feeling Ochako gaze on her, and she flicks an ear and yawns. ...Yeah, shouldn't have expected anything helpful there.]
O-Okay, I'm gonna do it!! Just...a little flame. [flexing her fingers a bit, Ochako concentrates, digging into the pool of magic in side herself and slowly, slowly letting her fingers dip in. The tips glow red hot, and there's a sudden burst of flames right in the palm of her hand, like dumping alcohol on a hot skillet.] Uwaah!! B-B-Bright!
[But, thankfully, the flame starts to die down after the first few seconds, flickering erratically as Ochako strains to keep it managed.]
[The cheering is really, really nice, and Ochako does smile a bit - she definitely does react to some positive reinforcement and praise - but it's easy to tell she's actually focusing pretty hard on maintaining an even flame. Her brows are knit together, lips pursed into a hard line, and her eyes are glued on that little flame that seems to keep dancing in her palm...crackling and popping wildly like it's just waiting to explode outwards.]
Haah...wh-why's it so hard to...maintain a small thing like this?
[You'd think a bigger blaze would be harder, right? At least Ochako does, but a smaller flame actually takes way more control and reigning in that power...which she doesn't have a handle on at all. The 'output' of her magic is always dialed right up to ten and stuck there, so turning it down to something like a two or a three...takes work. After a while, she lets the flame die out and sighs.]
How do you manage to get your magic to work like that, Bennett-kun? I'm trying to mimic a friend that has control over fire, but...I mostly see him use it at max power, and I don't really know how he ignites it...
I'm... probably not the best person to ask about that, haha.
[Bennett awkward scratches the back of his head.]
You see, back home, I've got what's called a Vision. [He reaches down and curls his fingers around the red jewel attached to his bag.] With it, I can use fire to fight! So even though it doesn't work here, I guess fire comes naturally to me? Maybe a little too naturally...

...Maybe stand back a little.

[He gives her a thumbs up. But he does as she asks, and takes a step back to give her some space.]

[Whatever that is, he has no clue. Small magic happens accidentally for him, he couldn't even fathom having to actually try for it.]
