Her brows are knit together, lips pursed into a hard line, and her eyes are glued on that little flame that seems to keep dancing in her palm...crackling and popping wildly like it's just waiting to explode outwards.]

This world is starting to wear her down. From the homesickness and loss of her quirk, her dreams, her family, to all the shit with the spiders and now...this. Now this. It feels like she's been isolated, unsure of how to open up about it to anyone, so it's grown into, well...a rather ugly mark. Like the one she sports from the aftermath of the spider attack, but this scar is all mental. Emotional. Deeper and much uglier than the scar on her abdomen.

Serial murderers, arsonists, terrorists, all that sort of thing. There's one particular group that calls themselves the League of Villains as well - and they're perhaps the worst of the worst.
Even so, how we're taught in school is that we, as Heroes, shouldn't kill. It's against the law, no matter how you really look at it, and no one is above the law. or they shouldn't be...just because they're considered 'Heroes'. I've seen people kill here, from the first time I showed up, and...I can't really agree with it. But I do understand why it's necessary, I think.

I guess if it became too easy, a hero would be no different from us shinobi, or any soldier really. Killing was easy, almost too easy when I slipped into it with others. Some were insane bastards almost like Dogen. Others were just part of a job. Like, before Dogen, the scroll he wanted could turn people insane through magic. Many of our subordinates on the mission, our classmates, became crazy killers, forcing us to off them. Making the call was easy then, and I didn't even think much of it. Just thought they were too weak.
Would you be surprised when that shit happened again, we tried really hard to just knock them out at least?

[She did indeed, and as Ochako moves, she sees a vendor selling pasties with various fillings inside. Some have sweet fillings, like berry or even pumpkin, and others have rich, savory ones like meat, gravy, and potatoes. There's a line, but not too long - maybe three people, as it seems the pasties were premade before the little vendor opened, and just kept hot and fresh in a low oven until they sell out...as more are being prepped and baked to restock when they do run out.]
Stocks aren't used where I'm from. Most villains are put in jail depending on the severity of their crime. But even so, it's not just punishing a wrongful act - if that man were just held in the stocks...I wouldn't enjoy it, but I think it'd be a bit better overall. Those people...they were assaulting him. Humiliating and demeaning him and. A-And that's...th-that's not right. I don't think that's right, no matter what.
[That's not justice, that's just torture.]
I don't regret what I did. I don't regret helping, or even incriminating myself. In my heart, I feel it was the right thing to do.

Yeah, that's part of the punishment. People see your face, know what you've done, and once the guards free you, everyone remembers. It's better than some punishments I've heard of in smaller towns and villages. Even Treno, I'd rather get the stocks than end up disappearing like I hear happens.
